14 June - Align with Your Design: Taking the Next Step

Connect with Anjani Venusia

We were literally packed to the rafters.

Starting the night off with a peaceful meditation, Anjani took us through a journey of self-enquiry, awareness, and support (SEAS). Understanding the fundamentals of how we can come into alignment with what we are designed for is a technique that is accessible. Aligning with your design starts with knowing your design, knowing what you were made for, what makes you thrive and live every day excited for the next.

Anjani opened the talk up with her testimony about why she became a successful lawyer. Her two reasons were one, proving her educator wrong and two, getting the acknowledgment that she didn’t receive from her parents. - Her Why! She then came to realise what was doing was not aligned with her life's purpose.

You know what your life purpose (your why) is, all you need is a nudge to help you realise what it.

And nudge she did.....

These were the 5 key areas that Anjani touched on to support alignment with your design:

 1. YOUR FLAVA

  • Understanding your why for doing something.
This is what will drive you and get you up in the morning. It upskills your motivation. Being asked what your why is might sound confronting at first but as we walked through the workbook, specific questions prompted thinking that resulted in a pattern that identified your passions.

  • Becoming solution focused.
Rather than problem focused. An example, ‘I have a problem I need to get out of it’ versus ‘I want to make a difference in the world.’

Take a piece of paper and answer these questions for yourself:

a)    What are your current Un-resourceful negative beliefs? List them down.
b)    Now flip them into resourceful beliefs and write them down. Focus on the solution.

Now that you have your resourceful beliefs it will be easier to answer the following questions to find your design:

a)    When I as a child I loved to…..

b)    If you didn’t need a job, what would you do to fill these hours?

c)     When I am doing ……… I forget about the world around me. Fill the blank.

d)    What is on your bucket list? If you don’t have one, start one.

e)    What do other people say about your natural talents, skills, and abilities?

f)     What things bring you joy, make you laugh, fills you up or bolsters you?

g)    What dominant principles and do you live your life with?

2. HACKING

This is about identifying your limiting beliefs and habits that you engage in to avoid achieving what you are meant to be. List 5 limiting daily habits:

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.- Aristotle

Anjani’s technique to be able to hack your daily limiting beliefs is by:

  • Saying YES to something you FEAR doing but want to do.
  • Saying NO to the habits that you want to STOP doing.

You are 42% likely to achieve it if you write it down, so write it all down.

3. MINDFLEX

Being set is your ways limits us from living the dream that you want. Therefore learning the art of mind flexing is a method Anjani describes on how you can flow through life smoother, keep it moving and keep it going. Not feeling stuck!

Keep practicing and resetting, Changing your mind about something results in your life changing. Have you ever watched the movie ‘Yes Man’?

Changing our mindset -> Changes our beliefs -> Changes your behaviors -> Changes the result. It’s a ripple effect. It all starts and ends with you and your mindset /core beliefs.

Write what your mind was fixed/stuck on? Like, I can’t do it, I am not sure, I don’t have money, I don’t have a millionaire husband to support my dreams.

4. FLOW STATE

This is the state where you are fully focused and productive. You have great momentum and everything you want feels easy and you lose track of time.

Getting into this state is simple. All you need to do is plug into the present moment by switching ON. If you are not 'plugged in' then you are living in the dark.

Guided meditations are a great way to plug into the source. Using your imagination and will power, you are able to still your mind for better clarity.

There is no time like the present. Write down your 'grand design' with all that you have been made aware in this exercise. What legacy would you leave?

Thank you so much to everyone that joined us. Meeting all the new faces was lovely. Being able to meditate with such a big group was exceptional. Thanks to the beautiful Anjani who delivered an insightful one-hour workshop, allowing us to be more aware of ourselves. The workbooks were a practical touch. At the end of the talk, we had already begun our journey to aligning with our design.

If you are thinking about your design and have questions about your purpose, or need some inspiration or just want to know more about the notes above, get in touch with Anjani. Her number one purpose is to help individuals understand and nurture their passion and live their purpose.
