Nothing is too big for you

Nothing is too big for you.

I once heard these words from a person that i didn’t know very well, he said “ look back 5 years from today or this moment and think about what you were not able to do compared to what you are so fluent in today. What a mastermind, it’s only in the last 7 months have I actually understood what that means. I feel that this has completely changed the way that I view everything about my life.

The 10th of April 2017 arrives. I get myself ready jump into the car and drive to my new destination of work. From a young age, I always had one career passion and I was progressing very well in it, “Living my dream”, so to speak”. After 9 years of being at the same company, a life milestone shifted me into a new path that I would never have imagined. An unforeseen career change that would be sure to drop me in the deep end. For many, changing careers is not a big deal but for me, it was so great that even my friends and family were shocked.

I rock up at the new job and placed on my desk is the responsibility of creating, designing, developing and launch a new website. Woah… At this stage all I know how to do is develop new food recipes and launch them.

I must say as much as it was an exciting project, it kept me up at night, it made me panic in the mornings, my dear sister couldn’t stop hearing about this project of building a new website with no experience. The first 4 months i’ll be honest, the quit cards were on the table. I kept thinking these people have the wrong person for the job. Ain’t it funny that today I look back at every late night I spent researching and trying to grasp the concepts of building a new website but also learning about not only marketing concepts but digital marketing concepts and funnels and this and that and I feel great about it…

I will never look at a challenge in the same light ever again. I am under that impression that any challenge in my space is there to show that I can conquer anything in path. “All In baby” All in for the life I want to live, All in for the joy and love I want to experience, All in for the freedom of my friends and family, All in for the change to live the best me ever.

When you are in the storm you see a different you, but take a good glance at yourself when you exit the storm because that is the real you that will shift you to the next level. These are the three main reasons for the success of achieving the goal that I thought would never end or I would never win:

1. My Support Team
You need to choose and be aware who is rallying behind you! A mixed dose of encouragement but truth that builds, is so important to help you see and adjust your decisions. My colleagues (old and new), my friends and family, mentors that I met on the journey of creating this new website for Me AfterWork. I stayed around those who encouraged me and gave me good tips and eliminated those who drowned me in negativity.

2. Gratitude
I changed my journaling to a gratitude journal, so every day I would write about what I am grateful for, what I will pursue and what I need to change. This is still going on but what this does is creates new neuron pathways in my brain to boost the belief in myself and my capabilities to be successful.

3. Find The Passion and Focus on it
I love people, if I could just hang around people everyday chatting, sharing and boosting each other I think my life would be complete. In this new job, I have that opportunity to do this and that is what fueled me to get the other more challenging tasks completed. Boosting myself in the moments where I ran events and was able to be flamboyant to take me through the moments that I needed to be serious and brainstorm on the details of this gorgeous new website that is birthed this week.

It is never too late to re-invent yourself and believe that you can do it. Learning today is so much easier to do than it ever was. Live your dream one step at a time.
