Who are you?

Who are you?

I didn’t find this question so easy to answer. My first response was to say, what I did? I had never thought about the question ‘who am I’ before.

One thing I was sure on, I didn’t want my job title to be ‘who I am’? Or how I describe myself. For a whole lot of reasons. This question was the first itch to the beginning of a whole lot more of new. At the time I had no idea the impact it would have… but if I look back, it was a definite trigger.

Like a lot of people around us we model their behaviours, their beliefs and their way of doing things… until something within ourselves says… ahhh… this doesn’t feel so good anymore. I think it’s time to explore more and see what else could be going on.

Through exploration (if and when you keep yourself wide open to it) you see more… you get a feel for what resonates and what doesn’t. You also realise that in life you actually never stop exploring. Life is exploration. If we didn’t explore we would really be living our life?

So through the exploring, you start to change, and the things that you love, you still love, but you also feel an urge to spread your wings. You know that to find new horizons you must leave the shore, so the wave can take you to the next thing. You also see the danger in playing it safe. Attachment, insecurity, self-doubt, reduced confidence, complacency, etc.

So as you take the wave after wave, you grow. Through these experiences, you become live more, feel more, and sweat the small stuff less and less. You move through life (or life moves through you).

So if you are feeling an urge of any kind… and you don’t know what to do, ask yourself, who are you? You might not be able to answer the question, but it will definitely help you to answer what you should do next!
